Two of these steps have a habit of being skipped, so it's worth running the first pass exactly as written.

When something goes wrong
Four problems account for nearly everything people run into, and each has a short answer.
The picture is flat. You're in 2D mode. Press the VR toggle. If there's no VR control at all on the player, your browser can't start a WebXR session, so switch to one that can.
"Enter VR" does nothing. A WebXR session needs a deliberate press, a secure page and a focused, active tab. If the tab lost focus, or another immersive session is still open somewhere, the request can fail even though the video itself is fine. Closing the other session and pressing again usually clears it.
You see two images side by side. That's the raw stereoscopic frame, with the left-eye and right-eye views sitting next to each other, shown without a headset separating them. It means the player is presenting the source directly. Entering VR mode, or picking the flat viewing mode if you're not in a headset, resolves it.
The stream softens or buffers. This is almost always the network rather than the show. Each eye receives its own image, so immersive video is bandwidth-heavy in a way flat video isn't. Move closer to the router or switch off a congested 2.4 GHz band before blaming the stream.
